I am currently a full time student on top of being of full time mommy to three MAYA boys. I am studying Criminal Justice focusing on Criminology. I am shooting to be a juvenile probation officer or a drug counselor when I grow up:) I did things a little backwards in life, but how fun is it to do everything the "right" way. I have a great husband who supports me and my decision to go to school so it makes things a bit easier to "get my butt in gear" as my mom would say. I wont ramble on but I will offer a few pointers that may help the Mom Students.
* Don't ever attempt school work while your children (or pack of wolves) are hungry. You will never get sh*t done. Try doing your work during snack time when they are devouring their prey.
* Set time aside with some assistance. Im lucky to have my husband here to help but I know a lot of mommas out there who are doing it all on their own. Pause for applause, y'all are the real Super Moms! See if a good friend, parent, sibling or neighbor high school Pre-Madonna will come entertain them for a few hours. Offer them cookies, coffee or a few bucks if ya got it.
*If you have other children in school, then do your homework while they do theirs. This helps me a lot and it shows them how homework is important for everyone. If your child is almost school age, make up some "homework" for them. I like to buy those dotted line sheets for them and have them practice their numbers or letters.
* If all else fails... Change the clocks two hours ahead and tell them its time for bed!
